If you’re not sure where your homepage’s web address is, head over to your website’s homepage. Its URL sits right at the top of your web browser, in the address bar. You can click on it to edit it, and add /wp-admin/ to the end.

Here’s something worth knowing: there’s a WordPress plugin that redirects your default admin URL to a 404 page, so nobody can try to log in to your dashboard by guessing different passwords. It’s a security measure that’s very easy to put in place, and I highly recommend it. Another, far more secure method — though it requires a compatible app — is to install a plugin that secures your WordPress admin login with two-factor authentication (2FA). The 2FA code is a randomly generated code that only you hold, either through a compatible password manager or an app dedicated to two-factor authentication (like Authy or Google Authenticator). It’s an effective way to be almost certain that nobody can log in to your admin area without your knowledge.

The premium Avada theme, which I cover in detail elsewhere, includes the “Avada Branding” extension, which lets you redesign the admin login page — including replacing the default WordPress logo, changing the page background with a color or an image, adjusting the colors of the button, text and links, and removing the “Lost your password” link if you’d like.
